Frequently Asked Questions regarding Easy Way Cattle Oilers Ltd.

(If your question is not  here, please either fill out our information request form or phone 1-877-Mels Way)

Why don't you use a double wick bull oiler?

Our research has shown that a scratch oiler combined with a walk under oiler and a face oiler is more effective than a double wick oiler.

What attachments do you recommend putting on my bull oiler?

We recommend that you purchase a 3 ft. walk through poly oiler as well as a mineral feeder with face oiler to attach to the bull oiler.

What kind of chemical can be used in the oilers?

Easy Way recommends Ectiban 25EC or Sanex Vet Tek Malathion mixed with either diesel or kerosene.

What is the mixing rate for the various chemicals?

Malathion concentrate is mixed at a 1:25 Litre ratio or as per bottle recommendations

Ectiban is mixed at a XX:XX litre ratio or as per bottle recommendations.

Can you attach a float kit on an Easy Way stock water tub?

Most definitely.  While we don't sell them with a float kit installed, it is easy to make our stock water tub into an automatic waterer.  We recommend Gallagher floats with our tubs.

What is the advantage to buying an Easy Way creep feeder?

The way we make our creep feeders and the materials we use is our advantage.  We use 12 gauge metal, which is 40-50% heavier than our competitors.  These means a longer life for your feeder, with more resistance to the abuse livestock can give it.  We also use a double frame undercarriage in all creep feeders 200 bushel and up.  To finish off the feeders, we both prime and paint giving more prolonged life to the unit.  Then we added the conveniences;  you can fill Easy Way creep feeders with the gates in transport position, you can open it with a ground opening slider, and it can be transported even when full.  In the winter months you can also use it as a self feeder in your feedlot.

How much does each creep feeder weigh?

All numbers below are approximate and in pounds.

   200 bus: 2450

   250 bus: 3000

   300 bus: 3260

   400 bus: 5000

How many calves can be fed by the creep feeders?

All numbers below are approximate, and vary depending on the breed of animal.

    85 bus: 20

   150 bus: 40

   200 bus: 60

   250 bus: 80

   300 bus: 120

   400 bus: 150

   400 bus skid: 80

Can I transport my creep feeder when it is full?

Absolutely.  As long as the feeder is within the weight recommendations for each series of feeder.

When my creep feeder is full, I find it difficult to open the slider.

This is standard with creep feeders due to the packing of the feed.  If needed, be have a bend in the slider bar that allows you to insert a tube for more leverage.

What attachments can I put on my creep feeder?

On the end of the creep feeder is a spot for accessories.  It can hold a mineral feeder, or a mineral feeder with face oiler.
